"Resolve"
This album opens with a short instrumental to warm the listener into the sort of sounds and styles they can expect to hear from the tracks to follow. The musical ideas herein quickly introduce my love for clean lead sounds, dense melodic ideas, and exciting chord progressions.
The first few seconds of this song lead directly on from the end of my Realisations EP from 2017, the final track on which was called "Unresolved", and ended with same sounds of seaside ambience that can be heard at the very beginning of this piece.
The title of this track has a double meaning - reflecting on both the "resolution" of the musical ideas that carried over from Realisations, wherein my academic studies at the time mandated me to write music well outside of my comfort zone - and the inner sense of "resolve" that, five years after my last big musical venture, has finally fueled my desire and energy to write the sort of music that I wanted to write, after feeling stymied for so long by anxieties brought on by real life and by academia - I go on to explore these themes more deeply in "Brand New You".

Absolutely sublime, an essential to any MIDI enthusiast. Vanilla compatible as well. Of course if you don't know, you should play BTSX using a source port of your choice: You can use ZDL to load up source ports and cleanly select multiple pk3s and WADs to run. The interface of ZDL is a bit clunky but, to play BTSX all you would really need to do is drag and drop the WAD to a sourceport exe to launch it. I recommend GZDoom for utility, Woof for authenticity, and DSDA if you're speedy boi.

Transmission Control is a delightful soundtrack. The songs all have a delightful vibe (that also really well matches the original game), and are great to listen to. Excellent music. Additionally, the game is also absolutely worth checking out.
